Oshi No Ko (【推しの子】, "My Star") is a manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. It ran in Weekly Young Jump from April 2020 to August 2024. The anime by Doga Kobo dropped in 2023, and the 90-minute premiere broke the internet.

A doctor who's obsessed with the idol Ai Hoshino gets murdered and reincarnated as one of her twin babies. Yeah, it goes there. From that point on, the story tears apart the idol industry piece by piece: the manufactured personas, the exploitative management, the parasocial relationships, all of it. And somehow it's also a murder mystery, a coming-of-age story, and one of the best character dramas in recent manga.

It asks a simple question: what does it cost to be a star? The answer is never simple.
